Request an Item

Looking for something that we don't already have?  We want to hear from you!  Fill out the Materials Request form to let us know which items you'd like the library to consider purchasing for our collection. We do our best to fulfill all patron requests that align with Burlington Public Library's Collection Policy and are available in excellent condition.

If we're unable to purchase your request for the library collection, we can attempt to borrow it from another library via interlibrary loan.  Our interlibrary loan service lets us place requests in a national database and allows you to enjoy items from another library's collection!  We are happy to help you with up to three free loans per month.  Once the item has arrived (requests can take 7-10 days to ship), you will be contacted by phone or email to pick it up.  All interlibrary loan items must be returned to Burlington Public Library and will not show up on your library account.

Sometimes, items are not available to purchase or borrow from another library.  If this happens, we'll communicate with you to let you know!
