Youth Art Classes Burlington Parks & Recreation's art instructor offers a range of art classes where students explore their creativity with watercolors, acrylics, pastels and paper crafting. Brush handling, color mixing, paper identification and familiarity with a variety of media forms are among the topics students will learn during their time with her. Deirdre Czoberek's four-week sessions are offered periodically throughout the year. Dierdre holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from UW and many years of experience as a teacher of youth art workshops in local schools, museums and libraries.

Babysitting Basics
Boys and girls 5th through 8th grade learn all the basic skills needed to be a great, confident babysitter. Topics include: children's different age characteristics, managing behavior, general infant & toddler care, play ideas, safety issues and instruction on what to do in emergency situations. The one-day class is offered periodically throughout the year. Don't see an upcoming date? Feel free to contact our Burlington Parks & Recreation department - we'll make sure you're notified as soon as the next one is scheduled. Instructed by Camp Fire, Babysitting Basics is part of their "Kids Self Reliance" program which aims to encourage a child's self-esteem and feeling of empowerment.

Decoy Carving & Painting  Burlington Parks & Recreation is pleased to offer this class in partnership with the Washington Brant Foundation! Students are introduced to the art of hand-carving a duck decoy--from learning simple carving techniques (which incredibly do not require the use of carving knives) to "texture painting" their decoy with oil paint. Parents can accompany/assist, or sign up for their own decoy alongside their child. Check out the program flyer linked above for current course offerings. Photography Does your teenager love to take pictures? Would they like to know more about what a camera has to offer? Photographer Andy Porter joins Burlington Parks & Recreation in offering classes for photographers of all levels. Photo composition, editing classes and special outdoor excursions build on your expertise. Hands-on instruction offers students ages 14 & up the opportunity to get the most out of what their camera has to offer. Click on the program flyer link above for details, class dates & times. Would you like to know more about Andy? Learn more about him on his website.

Health & Wellness Programs Burlington Parks & Recreation offers multi-week programs that are offered seasonally and as ongoing fitness classes. Sessions and classes serve a variety of youth age groups. Check out the links above to individual program flyers for more information!
