Horseshoe Pit Shelter - Use & Availability
The Horseshoe Pit Shelter at the south end of Skagit River Park sits adjacent to one of the region's largest collection of horseshoe pits.

The 
picnic shelter and horseshoe pits can be reserved for use on a specific day and time, outside of their use by the Skagit Valley Horseshoe Club. Unless reserved, the shelter and pits are available for use between 8 AM and sunset at no cost on a first-come first-serve basis.


Reservation Forms & Fees
To secure an available shelter, submit a Shelter Rental Agreement and rental fee payment (plus a grill security deposit if opting for the no-fee use of Horseshoe BBQ pit grills).

More Shelter Information
  • 12 picnic tables sit under the Horseshoe Pit shelter.
  • A total of 24 horseshoe pits sit adjacent to the picnic shelter. Bring your own horseshoes.
  • Grills for the BBQ pit are available with advance notice and security deposit at the time of your reservation confirmation.
  • Personal BBQs can be brought from home. They must use charcoal or propane (LPG) as fuel and be for residential/homeowner use (not commercial-size).
Horseshoe Pits
  • Regular league play for the Skagit Valley Horseshoe Club takes place Tuesdays 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM, April through October. Newcomers are always welcome. Horseshoes are available on loan to newcomers during club play.
